Use

In this IMG activity you define CIAP conditions, which instruct the system how to identify materials as being relevant to CIAP - that is, materials that are part of fixed assets that are eligble for ICMS credit.

Requirements

Standard settings

The CIAP object types in the standard system are fields taken from the purchase order in Materials Management (MM). If you need additional object types to fulfill your requirements for identifying CIAP objects, you can extend these values (they must also correspond to fields from the PO). See SAP Note 819107 for details.

Activities

Define and activate conditions as required. Note the following:

  • You can define up to five CIAP object types per condition, but normally one or two are sufficient.
  • According to the CIAP object type you select (for instance, material usage or asset number), you must enter the actual database table value(s) in the fields Low Value and/or High Value; for example, for material usage "asset," you must enter the value 3.
  • If you only need to specify one value when you define your condition, enter it in the Low Value field.

Example

Assume that you want the system to identify all materials with the material usage asset as CIAP objects. You configure the CIAP object type as follows:

CIAP object type 1    Option    Low value    High value

MAT USAGE    Equal: Single value    3    leave blank

When you save the invoice in MM, the system automatically generates the nota fiscal, and if a CIAP condition is fulfilled, then it identifies the material as a CIAP object and creates a CIAP document.
