In this IMG activity, you define referral types for classifying referrals (both in the inpatient and outpatient areas). The referral types are used in inpatient and outpatient admission.

You can also define post-treatment types here which you can specify when discharging the patient.

Use

  • Movement category 1 for (inpatient) referral types
  • Movement category 4 for referral types concerning outpatient visits
  • Movement category 2 for postdischarge treatment types.

Note

Postdischarge treatment types are presently only relevant for the country version Spain.

Note Country Version Switzerland

You should store the "Referring instance" in this field for the medical statistics for the BfS (Office of Statistics).

Note Coutry Version Germany

The referral type text is used for the Admission source for emergency admission field for data transfer according to §301.
