The IMG activity Define Catalogs lets you create material catalogs and maintain the relevant catalog items in multiple catalogs.
Activities
This IMG activity lets you maintain the material catalog items for an existing catalog. SAP recommends that you use this IMG activity to maintain catalog items when several users wish to maintain entries in different catalogs at the same time.
Specifying a catalog on the initial screen of this IMG activity ensures that users do not block one another when working in different catalogs.
You enter items for a catalog by selecting a catalog in the initial dialog box, and confirm your entry.
You can specify default values for the following:
- Minimum order quantity
- Maximum order quantity
- Order unit
- Approval type
In the field Unloading Point you can enter a text that is reproduced in the subsequent MM documents. This text can be output, for example, on the goods receipt/issue slip and facilitate the organization of the material storage facility on the care unit.

You can generate catalogs from the material master using the report RNUMKAT0.
Since the catalogs contain references to the logistics materials master, inconsistencies in the catalogs can arise when the material master is modified. You can identify and correct such inconsistencies using the report RNUMKAT2.
