Use
In this IMG activity, you determine the scope of the functionality for the report application HCM Monitor (NRCQ) in Report Control.
Recommendation
The corresponding table in client 000 of your system contains the IS-HCM: System Monitor (RNCMON00) and two auxiliary programs for displaying and deleting the status messages generated by the monitor program. You can use these entries as a template, or as default settings.
Standard settings
- IS-HCM: System Monitor (RNCMON00)
You should schedule this program as a background job. It monitors the system and reports problems pertaining to communication (for example, if a subsystem cannot be reached or when there are batch input sessions containing errors) to the person responsible, and saves the status messages in the database.
- IS-HCM: Display HCM Monitor Status Messages (RNCMON01)
This report lest you list the status messages of the monitor. When you double-click on an error line, the system displays a comprehensive description of the error.
- IS-HCM: Delete HCM Monitor Old Status Messages:
This program deletes old status messages you no longer require.
Activities
SAP recommends you proceed as follows:
- Using Report Control you can implement your own customer-specific report groups in your client. You can also include your own programs in these groups.
- Schedule a background job that calls the monitor at regular intervals, for example, once a day (recommended job name: ISHCM_MONITOR_xxx where xxx is the client number).
- Schedule another background job that deletes old status messages once a week or month.
You can create a new job for this (recommended naming convention ISHCM_MONITOR_CLEAR_PROTOCOL_xxx), or if you already have a relevant deletion program for HCM (ISHCM_CLEAR_PROTOCOLS_xxx) add a further step to this report.
To do this, refer to the procedure described in the Section entitled Define Background Jobs.
