In this IMG activity, you make settings that determine how the system handles absences. These settings are interpreted, in particular, by the auxiliary program for adjusting extended services in relation to an absence (RNAABW00).
You set parameters to specify:
- Whether the start date of the absence is billed for or not,
- Whether the day the patient returns is billed for or not,
- Whether a minimum number of days of absence are a prerequisite for service adjustment,
- How the system carries out interim billing for absent patients,
- Whether an absence service is to be generated for the duration of the absence.
The settings can be made in relation to case types. Valid case types are inpatient and day patient, the case type outpatient is not valid, since an adjustment for absence is not relevant for this case type. If you require an entry for inpatient and day patient cases, you can make the generic specification '*' in the case type column.
Example
Requirements
Standard settings
By default, the auxiliary program adjusts extended services for an absence. The day on which the patient's absence starts and the day on which he/ she returns are billed for and an absence with a minimum absence value of one day is taken into account.
Recommendation
Activities
- Familiarize yourself with how the program functions by reading the program documentation.
- Decide which settings are required in your institution.
- Maintain the parameters.
Further notes
For more information about the various parameters, refer to the F1 Help for the respective fields.
