In this step, you configure the profiles for Single Item Stock Calculation.

The user can select one of these profiles to calculate single item stock.

In a profile, you determine the settings for the data upload and the calculation mode as well as the default values:

Uploading Data

  • Assignment IP - Material

You determine how material master data is assigned to IP data.

You have to assign the material master data to IP data in the same way as in the Customizing for the SPEC2K-Interface für ATA SPEC 2000.

For information on the settings, see the documentation on Customizing for Logistic - General under SPEC2K-Interface für ATA SPEC 2000 -> Maintain IP Mapping and Profiles.

If the assignment is not MPN=PNR, Manufacturer=MFR, you must select User-defined by Customer Exit.

  • Supplier Code

The system needs this data to read manufacturer data such as price and currency from the IP database.

  • Plant and Valuation Type

The system requires this data to read material master data such as price and currency.

Calculation Model

  • Numerical Scheme

You can select either Table Calculation or Poisson Integration as the calculation algorithm.

  • Enable or disable External Calculation

The user can only select the calculation model External Calculation if enabled by the current profile.

Default values

If no system data is available the system selects automatically the following default values :

  • Mean Time Between Events (MTBE) measured in flying hours, landing cycles or operation cycles
  • Turnaround Time (TAT) and Provision Period

For rotables, TAT is the sum of Repair and Transport Time.

For expendables, only the Provision Period is invoked.

  • Price and Currency
  • Essentiality Code (EC)
  • Workshop

The value determines the workshop location. (In the material master, the workshop location is identified by the Laboratory/design office.)

Example

Requirements

Before you can use the following settings, you must program customer exits:

  • Assignment IP - Material

User-defined by Customer Exit: You have to program the assignment in a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX004).

  • Enable or disable External Calculation

External Calculation enabled: You have to program the calculation algorithm for the external model in a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX003).

  • Data Source for each parameter

System data for Repair Time, Transport Time or Essentiality Code: You have to program retrieval of this system data in a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX005).

If you want to use the MTBE extractor to determine system data for the MTBUR MTBSR, MTBR and MTBF values from history time series mapped in the system, you must specify which characteristics in the system are to be considered for Operation hours, Operation Cycles, and Landing Cycles, as well as the notifications relevant to the MTBE extractor.

For information on the settings, see the documentation on Customizing for Rotable Management under Determine the Identifier for the MTBE Extractor.

Standard settings

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Create a new profile by choosing a new entry or copying an existing one.
  2. Select the new line and choose Details.
  3. Determine the parameter values.
  4. Save the profile.

Further notes

You must weigh up the pros and cons of the calculation algorithms (numerical scheme).

The Table Calculation has the following advantages and disadvantages:

  • approximation
  • suitable for each average shop load value
  • suitable only for confidence level with an interval of 85 to 99 %

The Poisson Integration has the following advantages and disadvantages in contrast:

  • higher numerical precision
  • suitable only for lower average shop load values, approximately less than 120

The system can calculate the spare parts stock by using the Table Calculation or the Poisson Integration.

The inversion is based exclusively on the Poisson Integration.

If both the calculation and the inversion is executed, you should select Poisson Integration as the calculation algorithm to guarantee the comparability of the results.
