In this IMG activity, you define a system parameter that specifies if a change log is to be created for Customizing tables.

This is a function available in the basis components.

SAP recommends that you generate change logs. This is the only way to ascertain who maintained a particular table and when, and to record the pattern of data when a particular error occurred.

Requirements

The "Log data changes" indicator must be set in the technical settings in the data dictionary for each table.

Standard settings

In the standard system, this indicator is set for all dangerous goods Customizing tables.

Recommendation

SAP recommends that you check the other tables for which this indicator is set. The parameter is effective for all clients and tables for which this indicator is set.

Activities

  1. Contact your system administrator.
  2. He or she must carry out the following activities:
    1. Entries in the "Current value" field: the client key (or the value "ALL" for all clients) for which logging is to be activated. The client keys must be separated by commas.
    2. To activate the update log, the system must be restarted.

Further notes

You can display the change log in transaction SCU3.
