Use
You can carry out an alternative valuation run to valuate products that you have created yourself. To do this, you have to carry out the alternative valuation run as actual costing based on the Material Ledger.
You have to start a separate valuation run for each accounting principle according to which you want to valuate.
You have the following options for saving the results of each valuation run:
- Saving to various accounts in Financial Accounting
- Saving to an alternative (additional) ledger

Activities
You start an alternative valuation run from the application and the parameters for the valuation run there.
Depending on whether you want to post to additional accounts or to an additional ledger, you can or must enter the following parameters:
- If you want to post to various accounts, you can use an account modification constant. This allows you to group accounts from various depreciation/valuation areas for the purpose of automatic account determination.
- If you want to post to an additional ledger, you have to enter an accounting principle ofor the alternative valuation run. For this accounting principle, you must have defined the additional ledger to which you want the results to be posted in Customizing for Parallel Valuation Methods.
You can find the setting in Customizing for Parallel Valuation Methods, under Accounting Principles and Additional Ledgers ->Assign Accounting Principle to Ledger .
