Use
In this activity, you can activate cumulative plan data entry for balance sheet accounts. When cumulative plan data entry is activated for balance sheet accounts, the system displays planned balance sheet values instead of the planned balance sheet change values.
Activation of cumulative plan data entry is relevant for the following functions:
- Manual planning
- Excel sheet upload
- External plan data transfer (BAPI_FAGL_PLANNING_POST)
If you activate cumulative plan data entry, you can also carry forward balances for plan data on balance sheet accounts.
Ensure that no plan data is being entered at the point when cumulative plan data entry is activated.
Requirements
You have made the required settings for planning under Financial Accounting (New) -> General Ledger Accounting (New) -> Planning.
Standard settings
With the standard settings, the period screen for balance sheet accounts shows the balance sheet change values for each period.
Activities
Example
You have activated cumulative plan data entry and enter in the overview screen 120 EUR with distribution key 2 for balance sheet account 100000. You then switch to the period screen. The period screen shows 120 EUR for each of the periods 1 through 12. This means that you have planned a balance of 120 EUR for the account in every period. There are no balance sheet changes in periods 2 to 12.
If you have also performed balance carryforward for the plan data, causing 200 EUR to be carried forward for account 100000, the period screen shows a planned balance of 320 EUR for each of the periods 1 through 12.
If cumulative plan data entry is not activated for balance sheet accounts, the period screen shows 10 EUR for each of the periods 1 through 12 when the same entries are made. This means that the balance on the account is increased by 10 EUR in each period. Balance carryforward is not possible for plan data in this case.
