Use

In this IMG activity, you check the identification listings delivered in the standard system. These determine which identifiers are displayed in screens or lists.

The programs in the SAP component Environment, Health and Safety are linked to the identification listings specified here via coding. You cannot therefore change the keys for the identification listings, you can only specify the following:

  • You can change the assignment of identification category and identification type for each position.
  • You can specify a regulatory list for each position. The identifier is then only displayed if this regulatory list is assigned to it.
  • You can specify a number of identifiers for each position that are then displayed based on the specified priority. This means, if the identifier with priority 1 exists it is displayed, if not the identifier with priority 2 is displayed, and so on.
  • You can assign a specification category for each position and thus control the display of identifiers in the hit list depending on the specification category.

To control the display of identifiers in the report according to their characteristics, you can use the IMG activity Assign Characteristic-Specific Identification.

Example

The identification listing D_DEFAULT is used if an identification listing that is required at a certain location in the program is not defined in this activity. In the standard system, identifiers are displayed as follows with D_DEFAULT:

  • First, the CAS number or, if not available, the EINECS number is displayed.
  • Second, the product name or, if not available, the IUPAC name is displayed.
  • Third, the structural formula and, if not available, the total formula is displayed.

The identification listing D_HITLIST is used in the following places:

  • In the workbench hit list, the identifiers are displayed as follows:
    • Column 1 contains the specification key.
    • Column 2 contains the specification type.
    • The following columns contain the identifiers as of position 1 of the identification listing D_HITLIST, that is, column 3 contains that for position 1, column 4 that for position 2, and so on.
    • The last column contains the value (such as the identifier or material) that fulfilled the search criteria and therefore led to the entry being included in the hit list. If no such value exists, this column is hidden.
    • Columns that are completely empty are suppressed, for example, if a specific identifier does not exist for all specifications in the hit list.
    • You can adapt the layout of the hit list (column position and content) to suit your requirements using the user exits of the category SPE_HITLST (see Manage User Exits).
  • In the upper screen areas of the header data and value assignment types for specifications, three identifiers are displayed: those that have the three lowest position numbers in the identification listing D_HITLIST. If an identifier is missing, the system uses the identifier with the next highest position number until three identifiers are displayed.
  • In the detail structure of the specification workbench, in addition to the key of the current specification under Description, an identifier is displayed: that with the lowest position number in the identification listing D_HITLIST. If an identifier is missing, the system uses the identifier with the next highest position number until it can display one.

The identification listing D_REFVAL is used in the following places:

  • If value assignments are transferred from one specification to another by referencing, the system displays the source specification in the property tree following the value assignments whose data is transferred by reference, meaning the specification from which data originates. It uses the identifier that is specified in the identification listing D_REFVAL at position 1.
  • If you want to edit a referenced value assignment, an error message is displayed. In the long text for this message, the system indicates the source specification of the reference. To do this, it uses the identifier for this specification that is specified in the identification listing D_REFVAL at position 1.

In the property tree and in the message, the system displays only the identifier that is specified at position 1 in the identification listing D_REFVAL, meaning that if this one does not exist, it does not display the identifier at position 2. You can, however, specify a number of identifiers with different priorities in D_REFVAL for position 1.
