Use

In this Customizing activity, you assign Object Identifier Types to business objects that are used in key mapping.

Requirements

Standard settings

In the standard system, object identifier types exist for all business objects for which key mapping is available. To access object identifier types in your own programs, use the constant interface IF_MDG_IDSC_CONST and refer to the constant name for the object identifier type.

When you define your own object identifier types either for SAP business objects or for your own business objects, use one of the following namespaces: X*, Y*, or Z*.

Activities

Proceed as follows:

  1. Define a new Object Identifier Type for a particular Object ID.
  2. Assign the Object Identifier Type to a business object by choosing the corresponding Object Type.
  3. If the Leading Key checkbox is deselected for all object identifier types belonging to the same business object, you can select the checkbox for one of them.
  4. If required, set the flag for Internal Key.
  5. Recommended Optional Step: If you want to implement a constant interface that is similar to IF_MDG_IDSC_CONST, define the constant name for the object identifier type.
  6. Optional Step: You can assign an Object Node Type to the object identifier type.

    Note the following:

    • You can only assign object node types that have already been defined.
    • To create a mapping group, assign multiple object identifier types to the same object node type.
    • You can prevent object identifier types from belonging to the same mapping group by specifying different object node types. Create a new one if necessary.
