DIAN Formats

In this section, you select the formats that your company will report. Each entry shows the format number and its version.

For each format, you can then define the following details to be reported:

  • VAT Formats
  • DIAN Categories (conceptos)

VAT Formats

For formats 1005 and 1006: here you specify the VAT tax codes and VAT account keys to be reported for each of those formats. As no DIAN categories are reported for these formats, you need only enter details for these formats in the VAT Formats section.

You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.

DIAN Concepts

For each DIAN category (concepto) belonging to a format, you can specify the following details:

  • Category - Only the categories available for the selected format are available for selection.
  • Minimum amount
  • NIT minimum amount

You can assign the following to each DIAN category, according the requirements of each format:

  • G/L Accounts
  • VAT Concepts
  • Withholding Tax Codes & Types

Accounts

For format 1001, you select the G/L (general ledger) account, or a range of G/L accounts, to assign to DIAN categories. This does not apply to the automatic withholding tax at source categories 5049 and 5050, and the stamp tax withholding category 5053. You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.

For formats 1007, 1008 and 1009, you select each DIAN category to be reported, and then enter details in the Accounts section only. Here you select the G/L account, or a range of G/L accounts, to assign to each category for those formats. You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.

VAT Concepts

For format 1001, you assign VAT tax codes and VAT account keys to DIAN categories. This does not apply to the withholding tax at source categories 5049 and 5050, and the stamp tax withholding category 5053. You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.

Withholding Tax

For format 1001, you assign the type of withholding tax, or range of types, and the withholding tax code, or range of codes, to each DIAN category. You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.

You must choose the correct withholding tax classification to indicate whether the type and indicator of withholding tax is Withholding at Source Income (Actual), Withholding at Source Income (Assumed), or Withholding VAT (General System, Simplified System or Non-domiciled).

You must create separate types and indicators of withholding tax for DIAN categories that report assumed withholding tax at source income or refunded withholding tax from previous years.

For the withholding tax at source categories 5049 and 5050, and the stamp tax withholding category 5053, you enter details only in this section, and not in the sections Accounts and VAT Concepts.

For format 1003 (withholding tax at source, retained by customers), you enter details in the Withholding Tax section. Here, you assign the type of withholding tax, or range of types, and the withholding tax code, or range of codes, to each category. You must deselect the Disabled checkbox so that the relevant information is extracted.
