In this step you maintain strategies for stock determination in PM/CS orders. The strategy determines from which storage locations and stock the required quantity of a PM/CS order is withdrawn.

Example

A stock determination strategy for service orders for the repair of a customer aircraft or component can determine that the required material quantity should always be withdrawn from the corresponding sales order stock or customer stock. If there is no sales order stock or customer stock available, the material should be withdrawn from your company's own stock that you can sell to the customer.

Activities

  • Maintain a stock determination group.
  • Maintain a stock determination rule.
  • In the stock determination header table, maintain a strategy dependent on plant, stock determination group, and stock determination rule.
  • If required, set the interchangeability flag in the stock determination header table. This means that the MPN functionality is used and fully intechangeable materials are considered in the corresponding strategy .
  • In the stock determination position table, assign a priority to each stock type that stock determination should suggest for withdrawal.

If stock determination did not find the required quantity using the corresponding strategy, BADI_DI_PCS2_2 can trigger follow-up actions.
