Use

In this IMG activity you define number range groups with the required number range intervals for the product type Service. To do so, you should have already assigned the reference product type "Service " for the number assignment to the product type Service under Specify Number Assignment Settings.

If you have assigned the reference product type Service to other product types also, the number range groups and number range intervals defined here are also valid for these product types.

There are two types of number assignment:

  • Internal

The numbers are assigned by SAP from the internal number range interval that is permitted.

  • External

The numbers are assigned by the user from the external number range interval that is permitted. The range limits for external number assignment can be both numerical and alphanumerical.

Specify a number range interval for each of the groups you have created. Assign one or more base categories to each group.

If you assign only one base category to each group, you can define both an internal and external number range interval for each base category. This also applies if you assign several base categories to a group. However, in this case several base categories would have the same number range interval.

Important
Remember, you are maintaining an application table and not a Customizing table. You cannot transport this table to different systems.
