Activities
In this activity, you can specify whether inactive products are allowed in the product master.
Inactive products may be used for the following reasons:
- Products have a data inconsistency and are therefore saved temporarily in an inactive form.
- You may choose to save a product in a temporary form to continue working on it at a later point in time.
Inactive products can be activated when required, provided data inconsistencies have been corrected.

Requirements
To be able to create inactive products, you must first maintain an internal number range with the number 01 for the number range object COM_CLEAR. You can maintain number range objects with the Number Range Object Maintenance transaction.

You can create and discard inactive products.
A deletion report is provided that deletes inactive products with the system status Deleted from the product master.
The status Deleted is automatically assigned to a product by the system when:
- An inactive product is activated and the inactive form is no longer required.
- An inactive form of the product is rejected by the user.
The deletion report COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_INACTIV is stored as a standard job with the name SAP_REORG_CRM_PRODUCTS_INACTIV. The report can either be run regularly in the background or started manually.
You are recommended to run the report regularly in the background.
In the transaction Define Background Jobs (SM36), choose Standard jobs to schedule a job in the background.
