Use

In the following activities, you customize the system so that at a local level beneath the company code, called the business place, it automatically:

  • Generates and assigns sequential document numbers to official outgoing documents - invoices, and credit and debit memos
  • Prints the official document number, the business place's address address and taxpayer identification number on outgoing documents

Example

Assume that you want the system to automatically number customer invoices and credit memos using a separate number range for each. For these documents, you use the accounting document types DR and RV for invoices, and DG for credit memos.

Activate Business Place    Enter country ID and set the BP Active indicator.

Define Business Places    Create the business places you need.

Assign Business Places to Sales Offices    Specify which business places are responsible for which sales offices.

Assign Business Places to Plants    Specify which business places are responsible for which plants.

Maintain Document Classes    Create document class A1 for outgoing invoices, A2 for outgoing credit memos, B1 for incoming invoices, etc.

Assign Document Types to Document Classes    Assign document class A1 to document types DR and RV, and document class A2 to document type DG. For entries requiring automatic tax invoice numbering, specify Generate Official Document Number, without date control.

Maintain Number Groups    Create a number group , such as ID2006.

Maintain Number Ranges    Create a number range for each of the business places you created.

Assign Number Ranges to Business Places/Company Codes    Assign each of the number ranges to the relevant business place or company code, per document class (e.g. A1), with a validity period.
