Use

In this step you can significantly increase the speed of access to change pointers.

This requires, for specific message types, converting the contents of the change pointer tables (BDCP and BDCPS) into a new table (BDCP2).

Requirements

  • Certain message types have been released by SAP for the new storage.
  • SAP recommends that before the migration you carry out an evaluation of the change pointers and delete evaluated change pointers. This reduces the runtime of the migration program.
  • Make sure that during the migration no change pointers are evaluated.

Activities

  1. Execute the step. A selection screen appears.
  2. You can simulate the migration in a test run, for example, to determine the runtime of the migration.
  3. Select the message types whose change pointers are to be migrated.
    Make a selection from the list of available message types. If you do not select any, as the default all the available message types will be selected

You can also schedule a background job for program RBDCPMIG.
