Use
In this Customizing activity, you can make query cache settings for Business Context Viewer (CA-EPT-BCV).
For performance reasons, the system uses a caching mechanism for BCV query processing. The query cache has the following features:
- It is user-dependent to avoid problems with authorization checks that the system executes within the data provision technologies called from BCV.
- It is time-dependent to avoid problems related to outdated query results.
- It is cross-session enabled to support the use of cached query results from the side panel also in the view area.
- It is deletes old entries to ensure that the cache size does not grow endlessly.
- It is configurable to set up the duration of the cache in general, or based on the context key and query ID.
- It can be skipped in general or for a specific user.
- It can be reset per user, date, query ID, or search ID.
Requirements

Activities
You can define the cache duration in general, for a context key, or for a context key and query ID. If you do not define the cache duration at all, the system uses the default cache duration of 1 hour.
To switch off the cache in general, for a context key, or for a context key and query ID, you must maintain an initial cache duration for it.
You can switch off the cache for a user with the user parameter /BCV/QRM_SKIP_CACHE (Skip the BCV Query Management Cache). In the SAP menu, choose System -> User Profile -> Own Data -> Parameters, and in the Parameter value field of the user parameter /BCV/QRM_SKIP_CACHE, enter X.
You can clear the cache using Customizing activity Delete Query Cache, in Customizing under Cross-Application Components -> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Business Context Viewer -> Query Management.
