Use
Application component: LO-HU
You can use the Business Add-In BADI_HU_ALWD_PM to restrict the packaging material types determined using Customizing, or to determine a packaging material directly.
In the transaction, if you call the Allowed Packaging Materials function for a material or a handling unit, then the system determines the packaging material types for the Material Group: Packaging Materials in Customizing. All materials for these packaging material types (that can be restricted using the BAdI) are then determined, unless you enter a packaging material in the Business Add-In.
Requirements
Note, that the 'Allowed Packaging Materials' function, and therefore also the Business Add-In, is only called for materials or packaging materials that contain a material group for packaging materials.
Standard settings
- The Business Add-In is not active in the standard system.
- The Business Add-In can be used more than once.
Activities
To activate the Business Add-In, you must create an active implementation. To do this, go to Customizing for the component Handling Unit Management and choose System Modifications -> Business Add-Ins in Handling Unit Management.
For more information about this procedure, see the SAP Library under
- Basis Components -> ABAP Workbench -> Changing the SAP Standard -> Business Add-Ins -> Implementing Business Add-Ins.
Note that the Business Add-In can be used multiple times and therefore all active implementations are called and run through.
Example
You can use your own rules (restrictions of the packaging material types using a specific route in the outbound delivery) to further restrict determination of allowed packaging materials using Customizing for allowed packaging materials. This means that you can also influence the selection of allowed packaging materials.
You can use your own rules to specify exactly one packaging material to use. In this case, it is advisable to suppress a follow-on transaction, by deleting the parameter CF_DIALOG.
Recommendation
If the CF_DIALOG parameter is initial, then the 'Allowed Packaging Materials' is called in the background and should not be activated. The parameter is used to switch off the transaction when it is not needed.
