Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) lets you check whether a DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) is an error DRG.

The following data can be used for the check:

  • DRG code
  • DRG catalog
  • Institution

The BAdI is called in the view type Coding Analyses.

Requirements

The implementation of this check is based on the German Diagnosis Related Groups (G-DRG) which is an adaptation and enhancement of the Australian DRG system (AR-DRG) to meet the requirements of the German healthcare market.

Standard settings

Activities

By default, the system checks whether the first digit of the DRG code is "9".

You can modify this check to meet customer-specific requirements. As a rule, in this connection you do not have to write your own source code. Only if you wish to implement checks different than that named above do you have to write your own source code.

The BAdI has a default implementation, and, as such, is active as standard.

Example

DRG codes that have "9" as their first digit are characterized as an error DRG.

DRG Code    DRG Text

901Z    Extensive OR procedure unrelated to principal diagnosis

961Z    Unacceptable principal diagnosis

You'll find more information in the documentation for the method.
