Process flow of thermal billing
One or more volume correction factors or calorific values are determined for the billing period, for each billing-relevant register in thermal gas billing.
You specify the calculation procedure for the volume correction factor and the calorific value for each register in the installation structure. The volume correction factors are determined before prorationtakes place.
A volume correction factor procedure and a calorific value procedure are combined in the gas procedure. Any procedures can be combined. You can, for example, use the daily calorific values in the calorific value procedure, but calculate the temperature as a weighted average in the volume correction factor procedure. Both procedures must be active, and the billing classes must agree.
One exception is the special procedure for demand billing. In this case the fields for the last values in the volume correction factor procedure and the calorific value procedure must agree.
The prorated meter readings in billing are valuated with one of the following conversion factors:
- Calorific value and volume correction factor
- Product from calorific value and volume correction factor, if the conversion factor field is selected in the gas procedure.
- The volume correction factors and calorific value procedures resulting from the prorations due to procedure changes, can be valuated with a weighted conversion factor.
This is calculated from the volume correction factors and calorific values with the weighting procedure specified in the Weighting key field. Only degree day weighting is possible:
F = Total (Di) / Total (Di/Fi)
Fi = Ci * Vi
Fi = Conversion factor
Ci = Calorific value
Vi = Volume correction factor
Di = Degree day coefficient
You can enter the required degree day coefficients in IMG activity Define Degree Day Coefficients. If there are no entries in this activity, enter a degree day coefficient for each temperature area per day, in activity Define Average Degree Day Coefficients
Determination of amount of warmth
In thermal gas billing, you bill on the basis of the chemical bound amount of warmth (in kWh) in the gas.
The amount of warmth supplied to the customers is determined as follows:
Amount of warmth = measured operating cubic meter * (in kWh) volume correction factor of the gas * average calorific value of the gas
First you convert the measured operating cubic meters into standard cubic meters, using the gas volume correction factor. The gas volume correction factor takes influencing factors into account, such as temperature, measured gas pressure, air pressure and gas type.
To calculate the amount of warmth in kWh, you multiply the standard cubic meters by the average calorific value of the gas.
The calorific value is dependent on the grouping of the gas, and specifies the amount of warmth contained in a standard cubic meter of gas. It is determined using the gas calorimeter.
