Use
In this IMG activity, you specify which business process types should be technically available in the application system. When you call the input help for the first time, the application system uses a remote function call from the connected SAP Event Management (SAP EM) systems to fetch all the business process types that are technically possible and then makes them available to you for selection.
Requirements
Standard settings
- SAP delivers predefined business process types.
- The business process types are cross-client.
Activities
Recommendation
We recommend the following order for the process steps to ensure that the business process types in the application system are consistent with those in SAP Event Management (SAP EM).
- First define the business process types in SAP EM.
- Then define the business process types in the application system that are to be technically available there.
Select the business process types that are relevant to a supply chain event management process in the definition of the used business process types.
Defining Your Own Business Process Types
- Under Define Business Process Types create a new business process type.
Make sure that you also define this new business process type in SAP EM with the same name. Otherwise, it will not be available in this system for determining the event handler type.
For more information about determining the event handler type, see the documentation for the SAP Implementation Guide for Event Management -> Event Handlers and Event Handler Data -> Define Event Handler Types.
- Define the control for creating event handlers (Create EH indicator) and for sending event messages (Send EM indicator).
- Enter a description for the business process type.
If you do not want to use the name of the business process type as the queue name, specify the extractor that you want to use instead under Extractor Queue Name.
Save the entries.
- Under Define Available Application Tables specify the tables that belong to the business object, and specify the corresponding default values to define the connection between the application interface and the business object in the application system and to connect them.
- Save the entries.
