BOM explosion is not possible without "application" and "usage"

Diagnosis
You want to explode a BOM item, but this is not possible unless you specify a BOM application component and a BOM usage.
System Response
SAP R/3 cannot explode the BOM.
Procedure
To be able to explode the BOM, set the Show parameter to explode BOM (MIGO_DEF_XBOM) indicator in the user-dependent default values, by choosing Settings -> Default values.
Procedure for System Administration
It is possible to define the settings in Customizing dependently of the plant, with the BOM usage and BOM application indicators.
Choose in Inventory Management Customizing Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Plant Parameters.
