Diagnosis
You are attempting to assign to a cost object hierarchy that is to be settled according to material account determination.
However, already contains a settlement rule to .
If a cost object hierarchy is to be settled to a price difference account without actual cost distribution and this price difference account is determined through material account determination, all objects in the hierarchy must be settled to the highest cost object node.
A prerequisite for the assignment is therefore that each object have a distribution rule to this highest cost object node.
System Response

Procedure
First check whether hierarchies with cost object category are to be settled using material account determination.
If you want to settle the cost object hierarchy using material account determination, you can carry out the assignment only if you flag such that the object is not included when the cost object hierarchy is processed.
You can achieve this by:
- Setting the production type for order-related production, repetitive manufacturing, and process manufacturing in cost object category
- Assigning a variance key to .
