Diagnosis
You tried to create an exception based on a subtotal or something similar and not on a regular characteristic value. This is not supported.
System Response
Procedure
You can define an exception for a cell whereby you position the cursor on a normal characteristic value or the results row.
Alternatively, you can create an exception for a column. In this case you can position the cursor anywhere in the column.
