Diagnosis
Changes to the asset master record can make it necessary to recalculate depreciation values.
Recalculation of depreciation values is not possible at the moment in company code using this transaction, since the closed fiscal years of different depreciation areas differ by more than one year.
System Response
When you call the transaction for master data processing, this message appears as an informational message that you can skip over.
However, if you try to save changes to an asset that would necessitate a depreciation recalculation, the system terminates processing. In that case, your changes are lost.
The system also rejects changes to asset master records made using the mass change functions.
Procedure
Cancel the transaction, or only change values that are not relevant for the calculation of depreciation.
Processing assets using mass change is not possible at all at the moment.
Procedure for System Administration
Check if the current situation is what you really want.
Normally, the closed fiscal years for different depreciation areas are never allowed to differ by more than one year, unless you are currently running a depreciation recalculation in this company code based on SAP Note 646691.
If you do not want the current situation, then it is probably due to an inconsistency. In that case, contact SAP Support for help in correcting the closed fiscal years in the depreciation areas.
