Plant substitution in the item is not possible for MRP areas

Diagnosis

The connected SAP APO system tried to run a rules-based ATP check for an item for material . The rules evaluation resulted in the substitute location , which represents an MRP area in SAP ERP. Due to the setting in the SAP ERP Customizing activity Maintain Item Categories in the RBA Control field, the RBA must substitute the plant (location) directly in the item. However, plant substitution in the item is not supported for MRP areas. SAP APO therefore cancels the RBA.

Procedure

Use a different item category for which the RBA Control field is empty. If plant substitution is necessary, this setting means that SAP APO is not allowed to substitute the plant directly in the item, but rather it can create a subitem instead.
