Diagnosis

The lot-sizing procedure for the short-term period and the long-term period are not compatible.

System Response

The lot size in the short-term period should always be more "exact" than the lot size in the long-term period, that is, the lot size chosen for the short-term period should provide small lots that cover the requirements more precisely. For this reason different combinations are not allowed:

• the lot-for-lot order quantity in the long-term period requires the lot-for-lot order quantity in the short-term period
• period lot sizes are only compatible if the period indicator of the short-term lot size is smaller or equal to the long-term lot size. For example, you can have a monthly lot size in the long-term period along with a weekly lot size in the short-term period.
• a daily lot size in the long-term period is not possible with an optimum lot size in the short-term period.
