Diagnosis

You want to create or change a bill of material and have not entered a plant.

You see this message as a warning, because the BOM does not have a reference to a plant.

  • When you enter materials in a group BOM, the system does not check whether the materials exist in a specific plant. This is a useful option, for example, in the design phase of a BOM which is to be allocated to one or more plants later on.
  • A group BOM is not exploded in MRP or production orders.

  • If you want to create or change a group BOM, confirm this warning message.
  • If you want to create or change a plant-specific BOM, enter a plant.
