Internal batch number assignment is not allowed for material type &1

Diagnosis

You want to create a batch for a material with material type and have not entered a batch number. In Customizing, you have defined for this material type that batch numbers cannot be assigned automatically (even if the internal assignment of batch numbers is generally active).

Procedure

You can either change the Customizing setting for material type to allow batch numbers to be assigned internally, or you can assign a batch number yourself.
