Definition

Express delivery companies are distinguished by the following:

  • Quick transporation of goods from one location to another
  • Parcel tracking

You can assign one express delivery company ID to a carrier for each export indicator.

The Express Delivery Company Cockpit is the central location in the system where you can make all settings that have to do with express delivery companies.

Express delivery companies often offer additional services (see also service code and product code) such as:

  • Various outbound-delivery speeds (overnight, same-day, economy)
  • Guaranteed delivery
  • Weekend pick-up / delivery
  • Cash on delivery (COD), letter-of-credit processing
  • International processing
  • Dangerous goods deliveries; live animal shipment
  • Pick-up service
  • Delivery to carrier's warehouse or depot
  • Proof of delivery, recipient ID, signature available as a graphic
  • Recipient notification
