Definition
The reference document number includes the business partner document number.
Use
The reference document number serves as a search criterion to display or change documents. The reference document number is sometimes printed instead of the document number in correspondence.
The reference number is set in the billing document according to control settings in the document flow and transferred to the FI document.
It is possible to set the purchase order number, the sales order number, the delivery number, the sales order number or the external delivery number as the reference number.
In the billing document, the field is a splitting criterium.
Dependencies
You can only uses this field if domain XBLNR1 has been lengthened from 16 to 35 spaces, which causes large-scale changes in the database.
This lengthening is required by customers such as the Federal Government in Public Sector.
