Definition

Number that the system automatically assigns to a version.

Use

When you enter a warranty claim, exactly one version is created, which is usually assigned to the category versions from claimant. Depending on the process and Customizing settings, the version can also belong to another category. During further warranty processing, the partners send further versions which have been created either manually or automatically in different categories. The most current version is always the one which is active, in other words, it can be processed. Older versions (which might belong to the same category) are inactive (exception: claims with claim split).

Versions can contain several items of different item types.
