Definition
Key that uniquely identifies the damage to an object.
Use
A defect code should be entered for each object. This is only not absolutely necessary for warranty claims for accessories. More than one defect codes can occur in a warranty claim version and be decided on separately.
You can choose the appropriate defect code from a linked-in catalog of damages via the F4 help function.
The defect code can be used for quality reports.
Dependencies
- SAP Discrete Industries
In the standard settings, a catalog from the component Equipment and Tools Management (ETM) is linked in with the catalog code WTY1.
- SAP R/3 Enterprise
In the standard settings, a catalog from Customer Service (CS) is used.
You can link in your own catalog of damages by using BAdI WTY_F4_DEFECT. The catalog of damages can be in the form of an external data carrier, an external system or an R/3 catalog.
