Definition

Internal number that uniquely identifies a warranty claim.

Use

The system automatically assigns this number when the claim is created. The number is taken from the number range interval for warranty claims that is defined in Customizing.

In Customizing you define an internal and, where required, also an external number range, for each group of number range objects. The warranty claims from one or more warranty claim types belong to a group.

The following groups of number range objects are contained in the SAP standard system delivery:

• SAP warranty claim
• Authorization
• Recall

The numbers of recalls can, for example, therefore be maintained separately from those for normal warranty claims.
