Documentation
Definition
Value of a characteristic.
- When characteristics use the character format (CHAR), this field contains a string of characters.
- TIME format values have to look like this: HH:MM:SS. The separators are set automatically.
Example: 132855 --> 13:28:55
- DATE format values have to look like this: DD.MM.YYYY. The separators are set automatically.
Example: 110100 --> 11.01.2000
Note
When evaluating validity parameters, you can only evaluate individual values, and not intervals.
The following description is not valid for the evaluation of validity parameters:
It is possible to specify a number or, if this is allowed, an interval for characteristics which use the numeric (NUM) format, the TIME format or the DATE format.
You specify intervals like this:
value 1 - value 2 (from value 1 to value 2)
>value 1 (larger than value 1)
>=value 1 (larger than or equals value 1)
<value 2 (smaller than value 2)
<=value 2 (smaller than or equals value 2)
>value 1 - <value 2 (larger than value 1 and smaller than value 2)
value 1 - <value 2 (larger than or equals v. 1 and smaller than v. 2)
>value 1 - value 2 (larger than v. 1 and smaller than or equals v. 2)
When specifying several values for a characteristic, you can separate the values using a semicolon.
If you have maintained the unit of measurement for a numeric value in the format settings, it is displayed automatically during confirmation.
Note
When maintaining the values of an interval in the classification system, you have to set multiple-value for the characteristic. After doing so, you can assign several intervals.
However, if you evaluate a class characteristic with several intervals (for example, intervals 1-2m and 5-6m for the characteristic length), the system only uses one of these intervals when creating the inspection lot in QM.
In order to prevent this, you should not evaluate a characteristic with several intervals.
