Definition
General text field that is used in the SAP Retail Store applications for maintaining descriptions for different objects.
Use
If you use the text field it means that the texts that are entered for the objects are displayed in the maintenance dialog instead of the actual transaction-relevant objects. These are much more comprehensible for the employees in the store (see example) and make the application much easier to use.
In other cases, the texts are used for pushbuttons or tab pages.
Dependencies
Example
For cost items and credit memo items for incoming invoices, the descriptions that have been entered for the objects are displayed in the dropdown list as input help for the G/L account instead of G/L account (numbers), to which as transaction-relevant objects, posting of the amounts is carried out.
