Definition

EAN category, or similar, that is used in connection with the manufacturer EAN or another standard material code (for example, UPC) when maintaining materials (creating additional EAN numbers, parking materials ) in the SAP Retail Store application Material Master.

Use

To avoid having to enter the EAN category explicitly in the material master maintenance dialog, - as opposed to the relevant transaction in SAP Retail - the EAN category for the manufacturer EAN, or other number category from a coding standard, is entered as a default in the Customizing schema for the material master in Customizing for the SAP Retail Store component.
