Documentation
Definition
Quantity of a material at a recipient for which stock is to be replenished.
Use
The target stock can be entered manually by the user or calculated at runtime during the planning run from forecast sales value. You decide how you want to calculate the target stock by configuring the forecast indicator in the MRP type (In Customizing of Materials Management, you can maintain MRP types).
If you have the system calculate the target stock dynamically, it adds up all future requirements during the target range of coverage, as of the end of the replenishment lead time defined in replenishment planning, plus safety stock.
This value is limited by any minimum or maximum target stock maintained.
