Documentation
Definition
Date for which replenishments are to be planned.
Use
The planning date indicates the start of the period until goods receipt. The planning date is normally today's date.
If you schedule the replenishment run as a job, for example, the planning run can start after midnight. You would then use the planning date to let the process know the correct date.
The planning date is not important for scheduling the documents generated in the replenishment run.
If an ATP check is executed in the replenishment run for a material, today's date is used instead of the planning date. Inconsistencies in the ATP check are thereby avoided because the ATP check schedule is defined using today's date.
