Definition

An indicator with which you can control the reusability of reference modules.

Use

Since this Customizing setting is part of the general settings for multiple references, it affects all material/plant combinations in your client. Entering a numerical value greater than zero (0) in this field is interpreted as a number of days.

The following possibilities exist:

  • Enter value 0

    The reusability of reference modules is switched off. Each material/plant combination processed during the automatic assignment of references gets its own reference module.

  • Enter a value greater than 0

    The number that you enter is interpreted as the age of the reference module (number of days). The system reuses a reference module only if the module is not older than the specified number of days.

Dependencies

Important

We recommend that you reuse reference modules. This reuse increases system performance and decreases storage consumption.

To reuse reference modules, we recommend that you create a specific database index to facilitate the search for reusable reference modules. Create index '001' (Index for Search for Reusable Module) in database table WRF_REF_MODULE. This index is part of the SAP standard but it is not active in the standard delivery.

Examples

  • Enter value 1

    The system reuses modules only if the modules are created on the same day the program for the automatic assignment runs.

  • Enter value 30

    The system reuses modules only if the modules are not older than one month.
