Definition
An indicator with which you can control whether an existing reference assignment can be overwritten during the automatic assignment of references.
Use
Since this Customizing setting is part of the general settings for multiple references, it affects the reference assignments of all material/plant combinations in your client.
You can choose one of the following:
- Do not overwrite
An existing reference assignment is never overwritten by the automatic assignment of references.
- Only overwrite if not maintained manually
The automatic assignment does overwrite an existing assignment, but only if it has been created automatically before. If the assignment has been created manually (or if an automatically created assignment has been manually modified), the system will not overwrite this assignment.
- Overwrite
Existing reference assignments are overwritten by the automatic assignment of references.
Dependencies
Example
This setting can affect an existing reference assignment of a material/plant combination if you, for example, change the Reference Determination Schema of this material/plant combination and later start the program for the automatic assignment of references.
Note
This setting is shown as the default in the control screen of the functionality "Transfer to other plants", which is available in the dialog program "References for Materials without History".
