Definition
Flag in the material hierarchy that lets you control whether a hierarchy node or level in the material hierarchy should be flagged as a category.
When you define a level in the material hierarchy as a category, all the nodes at that level are implicitly flagged as categories as well. In this case, the category flag cannot be maintained manually in the dialog box.
Use
The definition of a node or level of a material hierarchy as a category has the following meaning:
- The category is the root nood of the corresponding CDT (consumer decision tree).
- The category defines the highest assortment-forming node
- The category is the highest update-relevant node in category management in the SAP BW
- If multiple material assignment is used, the category is the node that is resolved through the multiple assignment. The material is always assigned uniquely within the category
- If multiple material assignment is used, the category is the node used for the department store-shop assignment
