Definition
The name of a role in SAP Enterprise Portal.
Use
On the selection screen of transaction WP3R (report WP3ROLELIST), you can enter a portal role name to restrict the number of portal roles to be displayed or edited.
Dependencies
- Portal role names can be longer than the maximum length entered on the screen. However, you can use the characters "*" and "+" for shorter selection values.
- There is an F4 help available for the portal role. Due to the length limitation described above, when selecting a value from the help result list which exceeds 45 characters, the value copied to the selection screen will be changed so that it fits the field. The shortened form contains the selected portal role, but might also contain other portal roles.
- The F4 help takes the field contents already entered in the name field for the portal role into consideration.
- The values offered for the two different "Portal Role" entry fields in transaction WP3R may differ because these fields refer to different data sent from the portal to the backend system (role maintenance data vs. role assignment data).
Example
To limit the selection of transaction WP3R to roles that contain the string "manager", enter
*manager*
in the "Portal Role" field.
