Definition

Activates the automatic assignment of users to authorization roles.

Use

If this indicator is set, the system automatically executes those changes in user-role assignments that are unambiguous:

  • A portal role has been assigned to the user, which only contains a single authorization role for a logical system that is maintained here.
  • A portal role has been revoked.

In this processing mode, the report produces a flat list with the executed changes instead of the interactive hierarchy structure. It is therefore suitable for background processing.

Dependencies

  • If you want to schedule this report for periodic background processing and are using central user administration with global role assignment, the job should execute report WP3ROLELIST_GET_CLIENT_ROLES in a preceding step. Otherwise, the data basis for the assignment step might be outdated.
  • If you have created more than one authorization role for a portal role in a logical system, the system cannot complete automatic assignment. This causes warning messages in the message log even if a user is assigned to any role in that system (in the online report, this situation will be considered as "OK").

    If the "Remove lines with messages" indicator is set, the system removes these items before the automatic assignment process starts, so that the messages are avoided.
