Documentation
Definition
Selection of the type of purchase order.
Use
By selecting the type of purchase order, you determine whether you want to process external purchase orders (for a vendor) or internal purchase orders (for example, stock transport orders). The selection mask changes accordingly so that for an internal purchase order, you are required to enter a supplying plant and supplying plant category, whereas for an external purchase order you are required to enter a vendor.
At the same time, the plant category of the receiving plant (A = store for an internal purchase order, B = distribution center for an external purchase order) and the issuing plant (B) are set accordingly. These are however only suggested values, which you can overwrite at any time. Note, however, you must always make an entry for the plant category - the system does not accept blank fields.
