Definition

Radio button that defines if time characteristics (day, week, month or posting period) are to be used without a fiscal year.

Use

  • Period without fiscal year
    This means that the fiscal year is an independent characteristic which can be positioned freely in planning layouts.
    As a result, however, no periods that are year-specific can be planned within a line or column as the 3-character "From" period is smaller than the "To" period (for example, July 2000 2000 - June 2001).
    However, if you want to plan for a specific year in a line or column, select "Period with fiscal year".
  • Period with fiscal year
    This means that a fiscal year is not an independent characteristic and can therefore only be positioned in a planning layout together with a period.
    If you want to use the period characteristic in the columns and if you have more fiscal years than columns for comparison in the layout, this results in all periods (including fiscal year) in the period screen being represented below one another and the various columns being represented in a cascade structure.
    If you want to avoid this happening, select "Period without fiscal year".
