Definition
InfoCubes are used to save data for a particular area in the Business Information Warehouse.
In MAP, actual data for planning scenarios is taken from InfoCubes. InfoCubes are also used as the data basis for planned/actual reporting for planning scenarios in BW.
Dependencies
InfoCubes consist of a fact table containing key figures (for example, revenue, sales quantity) and numerous dimension tables containing characteristics (for example, company code, division).
Each dimension table has a generated key field and contains detailed information about characteristics. The key fields for the dimensions of the InfoCube form the key for the fact table.
InfoCubes are filled from one or more information sources, using update rules.
