Definition
Break-downs are a way of finding the objects contained in a grouping. Three categories of groupings are supported:
- SAP Classification System
- Break-down table
- BAdI implementations
SAP Classification System
To use groupings generated using the SAP Classification System, assign the break-down using the classification system method to the break-down concerned.
You must also enter a grouping characteristic and a class type. The grouping characteristic contains the name of the grouping and its content that is to be defined. It is also optional to assign an RFC destination that defines the target system in which class definitions are made.
Break-down table
Objects can be assigned to groups directly from the database tables. To do this, select break-down table as your break-down method and assign a suitable database table to the break-down in question. You must also enter a grouping characteristic and a basic characteristic.
In addition to the basic characteristic and the grouping characteristic, you can include context characteristics as key fields. This allows you to assign basic characteristics to grouping characteristics dependent on context characteristics. The relative factor field RELF can also be included in the break-down table. RELF can contain information about the influence a particular feature of a basic characteristic can have when groupings are generated. This information is then used by different applications to disaggregate key figures.
The break-down table has the following structure:
Field name Key field Field type
<Basic characteristic> Yes Unlimited
<Context characteristic 1> Yes Unlimited
... ... ...
<Context characteristic N> Yes Unlimited
<Group characteristic> No Unlimited
RELF No WISP_RELF
Example: Breaking down a grouping containing plants for a specific material group
SAP delivers database table TWISPC_FILGRPZ and the break-down 1SITEGROUP as standard. Users can define the assortments of plants to groupings in the database table and the grouping can, for example, be generated by an evaluation program, using the business volume figures from the previous year to create groupings. A three-level material group hierarchy is used as an additional context characteristic. This evaluates the business volume figures for each material group in order to define the "strong" and "weak" plants for each material group.
Applications can use break-down 1SITEGROUP to find which plants are in a plant group. This break-down is created using the break-down table method. The following attributes are also included:
Break-down table = TWISPC_FILGRPZ
Grouping characteristic = FILGRP
Basic characteristic = WERKS
BAdI Implementations
In grouping break-down maintainance, choose one of the break-down methods "BAdI Implementation 1-4". For more information, see the Documentation for the Business Add-In WXP_BADI_012.
