Documentation
Definition
The unit of planning key figures in which quantities are saved.
Use
The base unit of measure is defined in planning hierarchy maintenance if the planning unit of measure is different from the base unit of measure. In this case, the plan quantities are entered in planning units of measure and saved in base units of measure. This ensures that the actual data, only represented in base units of measure, is consistent.
If you enter a unit of measure at a node in the planning hierarchy (that represents a characteristics value for a planning characteristic), this means:
- Quantity planning is executed from this level for this characteristic value and all subordinate levels and characteristic values.
- All planning key figures in which quantities are stored, are entered in this unit of measure, throughout the sub-tree.
Note
If you enter a base unit of measure for one node of the planning hierarchy, you are not required to enter base units of measure for the other levels below the node in question.
